GAMA was established in 1959 as GAMA Construction Co. Ltd., which in 1970 gave birth to GAMA Industrial Plants Manufacturing and Erection Corporation whose reputation, at present, is well beyond the borders of Turkey, as a result of the successful compilation of numerous contracts, domestic and abroad.

While GAMA was participating and performing in diversified segments of the business environment, industrial and utility power plants became a major attraction for GAMA, since it represented a challenging base for the growing modern technology, GAMA started in this field initially by performing civil construction and mechanical erection for the power plants.

This was followed by moving into more specialized branches in this segment. Becoming the representative for Babcock and Wilcox Co. of USA in 1963 acquainted GAMA with steam generating technology and successive representation deals with a numerous well-known international companies introduced GAMA into the realms of the “instrumentation and control” and “electric” concept of the power plant know-how.

Throughout a period over forty years, the Babcock and Wilcox relationship turned into a unique and long lasting affiliation in varying forms as representatives, licensees and finally partners during Babcock & Wilcox – GAMA Inc. This affiliation enables GAMA to design, manufacture, install, operate and service steam generators.

This specialization initially led to the establishment of a separate Power Plant Division in GAMA which, eventually, in 1999 ended up as a separate business segment titled GAMA Boiler Technology, Inc., a fully owned subsidiary of parent GAMA.

Through the many years of power plant experience GAMA’s capabilities have gradually been promoted to include design and supply of balance of plant equipment and most important of all, engineering-procurement-construction (EPC) contracts for combined cycle, cogeneration, combined heat and power and conventional thermal power plants.

In 2003, GAMA Holding was established as a result of an organizational restructuring process in the Group and during this process GAMA Boiler Technology Inc. transformed to a separate business entity under the Holding umbrella and was renamed as GAMA Power Systems Engineering and Contracting Inc.

GAMA has been increasingly emphasizing on turn key contracts executed on an EPC basis, mainly in response to opportunities developed in domestic and international market. Within this new structure, GAMA Power Systems Inc. is the separate strategic business unit of GAMA Holding for undertaking and managing power plant EPC contracts. And in a very short time period after this transition, GAMA Power Systems Inc. accomplished remarkable achievements in the industry.

Today, GAMA Power Systems Inc. is providing engineering and contracting services in a wide geographic area for both steam and power generation industries, and GAMA Power Systems Inc. and its affiliations with world class power companies are aiming to reach the uppermost level of customer satisfaction in each project.
