GAMA HOLDING INC.

GAMA was established in 1959 as a contracting company under the name of “GAMA Construction Ltd.”. In 1962, “Fenni and GAMA Construction Group Ltd” was established and GAMA’s field of activity was expanded to include mechanical, electrical erection and instrumentation projects. Until then, such activities in Turkey were undertaken only by foreign companies. In 1970, GAMA Industrial Plants Manufacturing and Erection Inc. was established with the participation of the key technical and administrative personnel of Fenni and GAMA Construction Group Ltd. Over the years, GAMA has grown remarkably and become one of the pioneering firms in its sector with its accrued experience in turnkey construction, manufacturing and erection of industrial plants, power plants and pipelines and in the construction of infrastructure facilities, high rise buildings, housing complexes and commercial centers. With its accumulating knowledge and know-how, GAMA has contributed to Turkey’s development and industrialization efforts by accomplishing large scale projects in power generation, petroleum, petrochemical and gas plants, high rise buildings, water and sewage treatment plants, bridges and various other infrastructure facilities.

GAMA Group companies have expanded their operations abroad to the Middle East, Russia, CIS Countries, South East Asia, North Africa and Ireland starting in the early early 1970s based on the experience gained in Turkey. By performing numerous prestigious projects over a large geographical area, extending from Ireland to Eastern Siberia, companies under GAMA Holding have increasingly focused on local and international business development and investment projects in recent years. GAMA has been active as a contractor and investor in local and international BOT projects and is working on other energy projects. GAMA also has hotel investments in Russia.

GAMA has undergone an extensive restructuring process starting in 2002 and “GAMA Holding Inc.” was established on June 2, 2003 incorporating the operations formerly carried out by GAMA Industrial Plants Manufacturing and Erection Inc.

GAMA Holding consists of the following five major subsidiaries under which there are also companies/partnerships: GAMA Industrial Plants Manufacturing and Erection Inc., GAMA Energy Inc., GAMA International B.V. (incorporating the international subsidiaries), GAMA Power Systems Engineering and Contracting Inc. and GAMA Trade and Tourism Inc.

1) GAMA Industrial Plants Manufacturing and Erection Inc (GAMA Industry)

Established on February 13, 1970, GAMA Industry is specialized in the field of the turnkey construction of industrial plants as well as all types of general construction and erection works. The company operates mainly in the construction sector and has completed more than 250 big size projects in a wide region from East Asia to Europe.
 
Following are the main subsidiaries and joint ventures of GAMA Industry: GCT Contracting and Trading FZE (Dubai), GAMA Construction Inc., GAYES – GAMA Renewable Energy Systems Construction Corp., GATE Construction Contracting and Trading Inc., TGO Construction, Contracting, Trading & Industry Inc., GAMA Qatar Co. W.L.L., NCC (North Caspian Constructors) BV, GAMA Stroy, TAISEI GAMA-NUROL (Bosphorous Tube crossing construction), BARMEK-GAMA (Kirikkale Mobile Power Plant), and GAMA-TEKFEN-TOKAR (Afsin-Elbistan B Thermal Power Plant construction).


2) GAMA Power Systems Engineering and Contracting Inc. (GAMA Power Systems)

Established in November 1990, GAMA Power Systems is specialized in the construction of power plants, steam generation plants and facilities related thereto (“Plants”) on a turnkey EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) basis. Within its scope, GAMA Power Systems i) develops the basic and detailed design and engineering for the Plants, ii) procures and supplies all machinery, equipment, spare parts and other items required for the construction and initial operation of the Plants, iii) installs, erects, constructs, commissions, tests and starts up the Plants, iv) provides training for the personnel who shall operate and maintain the Plants, and v) performs certain other works and services related to the Plants.

Additionally, GAMA Power Systems is involved in the design, procurement and erection of boilers used in power generation and steam & power systems. The company operations cover the marketing, procurement, supply of engineering and design services, manufacturing, maintenance as well as repair, operation and supply of spare parts of industrial boilers, thermal power plant boilers and other relevant products.

3) GAMA International B.V.

The subsidiaries of GAMA Group that are domiciled abroad are structured under GAMA International B.V., established in the Netherlands on December 15, 2003. Two largest subsidiaries of GAMA International are GAMA Construction Ireland Ltd. and GAMA Industry Arabia Ltd.

GAMA Construction Ireland Limited was founded in November 2000 in Dublin upon invitation of the Irish Government to Turkish contractors to participate in the National Development Plan. From 2000 till 2009 the company completed several power plant projects, housing complexes, business centers and highways.

GAMA International pursues its operations in Saudi Arabia through GAMA Industry Arabia Limited and owns 90% of the shares of this company. GAMA Industry Arabia Limited is involved in the construction of petrochemical plants, refineries, gas plants, cement plants etc. in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and furthermore provides counseling and management services to the 100% Saudi-owned GAMA Al-Moushegah Arabia Limited. “GAMA” is a very well known reputable name in the Saudi Arabia especially in the construction of industrial plants

4) GAMA Energy Inc. (GAMA Energy)

GAMA Energy Inc. is an energy and water infrastructure development and investment company established in 2002 in the Republic of Turkey.  The activities incorporate an in-house project development, financing, construction and operation management capability. 

The shareholders of GEAŞ are GAMA Holding and General Electric Energy Financial Services, each holding 50 %  stake in the company.  

GEAŞ existing local and foreign investments include:

•  20 % interest in the 672 MW Birecik dam & hydroelectric project at Birecik, Turkey 
  
•  72 % interest in the Izmit Su water treatment and delivery project in Izmit, Turkey,  and
  
•    8 % interest in the 478MW Trakya CCGT project located at Trakya, Turkey. 
  
•  80 % interest in the 17MW Çakırlar HEPP, located in Artvin, Turkey 
  
• 100 % in Lamas III-IV HEPP project of 37 MW, located in Mersin, Turkey.
